Description

The Karimikui River - the source of clean, cold water used throughout processing - lends its name to the Karimikui Coffee Factory, which was established in 1968.

The 800 smallholder farmers grow this coffee on steep terrains at high elevations are part of the Rungeto Farmers’ Cooperative Society.

The coffees are produced using Kenya's traditional but rarely used "double washed" method, which includes careful cherry sorting, double fermentation, soaking and slow drying on raised beds

This disciplined approach has long-defined Karimikui’s reputation for structure, clarity and consistency across harvests, resulting in a bright & complex coffee.

Tasting Notes

gooseberry, chamomile & nougat with a juicy mouthfeel

Brew Method

Recommended Brew Method: Hario V60
Also Enjoyed As: Chemex & French Press
